Certifications at a glance
BCX Operate, a Business Unit within BCX, provides ICT services to customers nationally in South Africa, in accordance with the service design version 6 dated 11052023 and hosted in data centres across South Africa.
The Integrated Management System (IMS) covers the provision of ICT Services by BCX Operate, including:
- Cloud Services (managed and self-managed)
- Infrastructure as a Service (storage, backup and compute) hosted on-premise at BCX Datacentres and at 3rd party datacentre providers, supporting operations for customers in South Africa. Physical, technical, and administrative controls are implemented in these environments
- Platform as a Service; and
- Managed Services including Operating System Support, Active Directory, Database as a Service support, Security services, Disaster Recovery as a Service, Monitoring and Reporting on a subscription basis.
These services are supported by Shared Services business units, including HR, Procurement, Finance, Risk and Compliance, Legal, and Internal IT.

BCX has the following Certifications
01 - BCX ISO Certifications
ISO 20 000: The (IT) Service Management System within the IMS as part of the Managed Services Business Unit, that supports Cloud Platforms Services within BCX, is used to support the provision of Cloud Service to all external customers from all BCX facilities within South Africa
ISO 27001: The Information Security Management System (ISMS) as part of the IMS, supports the Cloud Platforms Services division within BCX is used to support and provision secure Cloud Services to all external customers from all BCX facilities within South Africa.
ISO 27017: Additional controls as part of the ISMS within the IMS to support private cloud platforms within the Cloud Platforms Services division of BCX to all external customers from all BCX facilities within South Africa
ISO 27018: Additional controls as part of the ISMS within the IMS to support public cloud platforms within the Cloud Platforms Services division of BCX to all external customers from all BCX facilities within South Africa.

02 - BCX Data Centres
BCX has three, Tier 4 and one, Tier 3 Design Certified Data Centres as audited by the Uptime Institute, amounting to over 16 000 m2 of hosting space.
03 - BCX PCI Compliance
Thereby protecting the interest of National Payment Systems for several major retailers in South Africa, and enabling most of the leading national banking institutions in South Africa.
04 - BCX ITIL Maturity
ITIL 4,10 Maturity Rating: The assessment was performed in May 2020 across IT Service Management Processes as applied to deliver IT services to BCX customers.
05 - SAP Certifications
BCX supports its clients in accordance with SAP’s current standards for a Partner Centre of Expertise. SAP S/4HANA Solutions Operations (Local) This certifies BCX to perform maintenance, daily operations, enhancements, and ongoing functional support for business applications of the SAP S/4HANA® solutions. This certification is enabled for RISE with SAP. SAP SuccessFactors Solutions Operations (Local) This certifies BCX to perform maintenance, daily operations, enhancements, and ongoing functional support for business applications of the SAP SuccessFactors® solutions. SAP Certified in BTP Operations (Local) BCX fulfills all requirements as defined in the certification guidelines within the framework of the SAP Certification for Operations Partners Programme. This certification is enabled for RISE with SAP. SAP Certified in BPO Operations (Local) BCX fulfills all requirements as defined in the certification guidelines within the framework of the SAP Certification for Operations Partners Programme. 
06 - BCX - Trend Micro Gold Partner
This certifies that we have achieved Gold status in the Trend Micro Partner Program for reseller.

09 - BCX Sovereign Cloud
BCX ONE Cloud is a sovereign cloud, that provides control, compliance and security in local datacentres falling under the South African jurisdiction
Data Sovereignty - the concept that data which has been converted and stored in binary digital form is subject to the laws of the country in which it is located.
10 - SOC and ISAE
Systems and Organisational Controls (SOC) are reports provided by an independent auditor after evaluating how a company handles customer data, particularly sensitive data, in their everyday procedures. ISAE 3000 is the standard for assurance over non-historical financial information. ISAE 3000 is issued by the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC). The standard consists of guidelines for the ethical behaviour, quality management and performance of an ISAE 3000 engagement. SOC 2 (ISAE 3000) defines criteria for the management of user organisations’ data based on the Trust Service Criteria – after evaluating how a company handles customer data, particularly sensitive data, in their everyday procedures. A SOC 2 Type 2 report provides assurance on the design, implementation and continuous effectiveness of controls during a certain time period.
