Overall winner :
Netcare Digital has improved their records management with an electronic medical record system, reducing burden of paperwork for the patient and healthcare providers.
Best in Technology :
ABSA Bank Limited (Customer Engagement) presents Data Analytics Predictive Modelling, a cutting-edge approach to hyper-personalised offers for customers, improving customer engagement and experience.
Best in Society and Sustainability:
Afrika Tikkun Services has created a free-to-use online learning platform, offering internationally recognised Microsoft certifications through a low-bandwidth data consumption model.
2023 Public Sector Category placements
Overall winner :
South African Revenue Services has improved its services with an auto-assessment for personal income tax.
Best in Technology :
eThekwini Municipality created a data lake of all information, for digitisation, automation, and data visualisation, improving the city’s operational efficiencies while improving service delivery to citizens.
Best in Society :
City of Johannesburg Public Library has created a mobile eLearning platform to increase reading skills and literacy.

Overall winner :
Medsol AI Solutions developed a tool for the AI detection of breast cancer through wireless ultrasound probes in rural South Africa.
Best in Technology :
Momint leverages blockchain technology for Crowd-sourcing investments in solar power.
Best in Society and Sustainability :
CareConnect Health Information Exchange is enhancing healthcare through a digitally enabled healthcare system through the Health Information Exchange (HIE). The HIE hosts patient information, which the patient can decide to share with relevant service providers.

2021 Winners
In 2021, the awards received an incredible 61 entries, of which 45 were SME entries and 16 were corporate entries.
This marked the highest number of entries for the awards since its beginning in 2019.
The following companies impressed the panel of judges in what was a tightly contested and tough competition.

2021 SME Awards Category placements
Winner: 911 Response24 – Leaders in first responder and on-demand service technology
Response24 is a communication platform that connects multiple service providers together to instantly mobilise a co-ordinated response. It brings a new family-focused emergency response app that offers armed response and medical emergency services at the push of a button to you and your loved ones, 24/7. Whenever you or a loved one’s life is at risk, a quick tap of a button summons emergency services to the exact GPS located position where the call for help is coming from – even if you are unable to speak or do not know where you are.
2nd place: Technovera – Pelebox Smart Locker
Pelebox smart lockers enable patients to collect their repeat chronic medication in under 2 minutes instead of waiting hours queuing at public clinics. The social innovation leverages the power of technology to improve service delivery and truly offer a patient-centric service.
3rd place: Pargo – Pargo Pickup Points
Pargo is a convenient parcel pick-up point solution for online shoppers, which allows consumers to collect parcels at a store of their choosing. Many online stores offer the Pargo option on the checkout page. Customers simply have to click the map and pick their preferred pickup point. Once the parcel is on its way, delivery notifications will be sent out via email and SMS.
2021 Corporate Awards Category placements
Winner: RTT Logistics – RTT On-Demand Solution
The RTT On-Demand solution is positioned as an enabler bringing the content and product owner closer to their customer. This enablement solution is a true logistics or last-mile service where time is of the essence to our client’s customer. The delivery network’s mechanism consists of software with webservice integration into various platforms, motorbikes, light delivery vehicles and customer service.
2nd place: Old Mutual Limited – Comma Insure
Comma Insure is an on-demand digital solution that allows customers to insure specific items, with functionality to switch cover on and off via a WhatsApp bot. It offers affordable premiums that are calculated based on the required periods only, delivered in a convenient and easy-to-do digital way.
3rd place: Old Mutual Limited – SMEgo
SMEgo is Old Mutual’s Enterprise Supplier Development fund aimed at developing small, medium and micro-enterprise in various sectors across South Africa.
